Our People:

Michael Norgaard, LPC, NCC is the founder of CEU-Hours.com and resides in Bedford, Texas with his wife and three wonderful (most of the time) sons. His educational background includes a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from UT Tyler, a Master of Science degree from the University of North Texas in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Computer Science. In addition, he also earned a Master of Education in Counseling also from the University of North Texas. Mr. Norgaard is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and holds an endorsement by the board of examiners as a clinical supervisor. He is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). With a background in clinical practice and classroom teaching in Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology moving to web-based teaching seemed to be a natural progression as more and more credentialing bodies seem to recognize the value of what online learning has to offer in the professional development arena. Penny S. Apollaro, LCSW is a clinical social worker residing in Flower Mound, Texas with her husband and two children. She is currently consulting for CEU-Hours.com and the Brent Woodall Foundation for Exceptional Children in Coppell, TX and raising her son and daughter. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Psychology from Columbia University in New York City and a Masters of Science degree from Columbia University’s School of Social Work (1995). Mrs. Apollaro’s social work experience extends from community based mental health and substance abuse services in New York City to psychiatric social work practice in Virginia and Texas. She has also had experience working with autistic children and their families. She is currently active in providing clinical, supervision and consulting services on local, national and international levels. Mrs. Apollaro has taken an active role in CEU-Hours.com, because of her belief that on-line CEU presentations will be the ‘wave of the future” for licensed healthcare professionals who are seeking relevant, affordable,  easily accessible, and quality continuing education. Lending a social work perspective to course and curriculum selection and development, Mrs. Apollaro is a valued affiliate of the site.

Dr. Jason Roy Wells, Psy.D. and his wife reside in Atchison, Kansas along with their two girls. His educational background includes a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialty track in Neuropsychology from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology, Springfield, Missouri. Dr Wells is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Missouri. He is currently employed by the United States Department of Justice-Federal Bureau of Prisons at the United States Penitentiary Leavenworth, Kansas. Dr. Wells also has a small private practice where he performs psychological testing services. Prior to entering the Bureau, Dr. Wells had worked for the State of Missouri at its Sexual Offender Treatment Center. He has clinical interests in forensics, neuropsychology, deviant sexual behavior and psychological testing. He has experience teaching at the undergraduate level and has an interest in web-based teaching methods. He believes CEU-Hours.com is a great alternative to attending seminars and other CEU presentations which always involve additional expense such as time and money for travel. Time is a valuable commodity and CEU-Hours.com provides the professional whose time is limited with an outstanding method of obtaining affordable continuing education without having to travel.

Our Courses:

Addiction and mental health continuing education topics found on CEU-Hours.com addresses a variety of clinical and professional issues that are likely to be encountered in the practice of mental health, chemical dependency, marriage and family therapy, and other clinical practice areas. For this reason, development in these areas is crucial. We feel that CEU-Hours.com offers the licensed professional the opportunity to have an array of content options to select from. We are more likely to gain and apply knowledge from clinical areas in which we have an interest. We feel that selecting a local workshop because it happens to be the next scheduled topic and renewal is approaching is contrary to the spirit of professional development.

The content on CEU-Hours.com comes from material that is either licensed to us for use on the site, was developed by a CEU-Hours.com content editor, or is in the public domain and may be used freely. In some courses, we may utilize material from the National Institute of Mental Health, NIH, and other state and government agencies. We feel that the experts that developed this material have undergone a thorough screening by these funding providers and have been selected because they have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the area of research far surpassing standards of the average clinician. Your tax dollars have paid for this research and now you may derive a return from that investment by means of professional growth and the opportunity to earn credit toward renewal of your license. Inclusion of public domain material on CEU-Hours.com does not imply endorsement by the publishing entity or authors. Some courses may require you have the free Acrobat Reader installed.

Applicability of credit:
