Target Audience:
This course is designed for healthcare providers. Specifically, it is designed for Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Chemical Dependency Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Nurses, or any other healthcare provider that is likely to gain professionally from increased knowledge of dynamics between addicted teens and their parents. It is appropriate for any provider that is likely to come into contact with those dealing with issues related to alcoholism in the course of clinical practice.
Learning Objectives:
The objective of this course is to familiarize the learner with a fundamental understanding of the dynamics, common underlying influences, and behavioral patterns of teens struggling with alcohol addiction. It is intended to assist healthcare providers in providing appropriate intervention to the parents of such teenagers and to allow the healthcare professional to increase his/her level of knowledge of the special needs and barriers within this special population.
