Target Audience:
This course is designed for healthcare providers. Specifically, it is designed for Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Chemical Dependency Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Nurses, or any other healthcare provider that is likely to gain professionally from increased knowledge in the subject area. It is appropriate for any provider that is likely to come into contact with those dealing with issues related to GHB abuse and GHB addiction.

Teaching Method:
This course is being delivered via a web-based format in which you will be asked to view material relevant to the topic and answer questions about the material you have reviewed. You will also have the opportunity to complete a course evaluation at the conclusion of the course to help the instructors know how well we are meeting the learning objectives and how well you like the format of delivery for the material. Learning Objectives:
The objective of this course is to assist the helping professional in developing a more in depth level of knowledge about GHB, including it's use, abuse, and addiction. Information is also presented related to distribution and law enforcement aspects of GHB. This information is likely to be useful in educating clients about GHB and the risks inherent within it's use including legal, health, and psychosocial related risks.

Skill Development:
At the completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Identify some of the effects of GHB on body systems.

2. Describe the historical development of GHB abuse and addiction.

3. Explain possible health and legal consequences associated with the use, administration and/or possession of GHB.

4. Identify at least one law enforcement campaign addressing GHB distribution.

5. Demonstrate an enhanced understanding of the dangers related to GHB use.

6. Correctly answer at least 75% of multiple choice questions on a quiz over the material.
