Target Audience:
This course is designed for healthcare providers. Specifically, it is designed for Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Chemical Dependency Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Nurses, or any other provider that is likely to gain professionally from increased knowledge in the subject area. It is appropriate for any provider that is likely to come into contact with those dealing with issues realted to the clinical topic in the course of practice.


Teaching Method:
This course is being delivered via a web-based format in which you will be asked to read material relevant to the topic and answer questions about the material you have read. You will also have the opportunity to complete a course evaluation at the conclusion of the course to help the instructors know how well we are meeting the learning objectives and how well you like the format of delivery for the material.


Learning Objectives:
The objective of this course is to familiarize the learner with research on the use and abuse of MDMA including risk factors, health factors, and treatment approaches. Since mental healthcare practitioners are at a higher than average risk of encountering a MDMA abusing individual, the ability to identify the problem and educate the patient is appropriate.




Skill Development:
At the completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Identify statistical information related to MDMA abuse.
2. Understand and identify psychosocial factors associated with MDMA abuse.
3. Enhance understanding of known health risks associated with MDMA abuse.
4. Demonstrate an enhanced understanding of terms and slang related to MDMA.
5. Correctly answer 75% of multiple choice questions on a quiz over the material.
