Target Audience:
This course is designed for healthcare providers. Specifically, it is designed for Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Social Workers (LMSW, LCSW), Psychologists, Chemical Dependency Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Nurses, or any other healthcare provider that is likely to gain professionally from increased knowledge in the subject area. It is appropriate for any provider that is likely to come into contact with those dealing with issues related to the clinical topic in the course of practice.
Learning Objectives:
The objective of this course is to familiarize the learner with current pharmacological approaches to managing drug addiction with an emphasis on opiate addiction.
The emphasis is only policy and the process of policy development in this area with some dialog related to treatment implications for the front line practitioner within both the medical and psychosocial realms.
