Target Audience:
This course is designed for healthcare providers. Specifically, it is designed for Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Psychologists, Chemical Dependency Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, Nurses, or any other provider that is likely to gain professionally from increased knowledge in the subject area. It is appropriate for any provider that is likely to come into contact with those dealing with issues realted to the clinical topic in the course of practice.



Teaching Method:
This course is being delivered via a web-based format in which you will be asked to read material relevant to the topic and answer questions about the material you have read. You will also have the opportunity to complete a course evaluation at the conclusion of the course to help the instructors know how well we are meeting the learning objectives and how well you like the format of delivery of the material.




Learning Objectives:
The objective of this course is to familiarize the learner with research regarding how sexual harassment affects victims, conditions that promote sexual harassment, and it's consequences. The course will help clarify some of the barriers and difficulties that are faced by victims of sexual harassment. Mental healthcare providers are more likely than average to encounter victims of sexual harassment, either presenting with direct or indirect issues related to the victimization, so it is appropriate for them to be familiar with some related concepts.




Skill Development:
At the completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1. Explain at least one model of sexual harassment.
2. Describe gender differences in reporting/types of sexual harassment.
3. Identify statistical trends in sexual harassment.
4. Demonstrate an enhanced understanding of victim blame through an increased empathy in clinical work with victims.
5. Correctly answer 75% of multiple choice questions on a quiz over the material.
